What is Messy Church?
Messy Church is a world-wide and fast growing ministry that engages and builds relationships with people outside the usual church context. The Messy Church movement began in 2004, when a congregation felt they were struggling to reach children with God's story. They wanted to create a new way of fellowship that would grab hold of the imagination of local families.
Messy Church is a form of church that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. It is for all ages, together, to help congregations and families grow together in their walk of faith.
Messy Church includes a welcome, creative time to explore biblical themes through getting messy, celebration time involving story, prayer, song and games followed by a sit-down meal.
It is a church for people at all stages of their faith journey. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity to introduce and discover Jesus and to grow closer to him.
